The Living is Easy
I had just about the nicest day ever today. I woke up around 11 without any help from alarms or neighbor dogs, laid in bed daydreaming for awhile and then made my way to the shower. While I lathered my hair I watched the neighborhood stray cat, Skulkers chase some birds out of the garden.
After a long, hot shower I read half of the Fray compendium while sitting in my favorite chair in front of the sunny window in our living room.
At around 1 I met up with Alissa and we went to lunch at a little Greek place (Yumi's). There Alissa and I had delicious sandwiches and chatted about work and weddings mostly. Afterwards we went to DSW where I had a coupon that was just enough of a discount to justify buying some full-priced Steve Maddens I fell in love with.
On the way home from shoe shopping Alissa bought me a cherry limeaide from Sonic (the only non-alcoholic drink I am interested in during the summer time) and then dropped with off at home where I popped some popcorn, watched some Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations on DVD and cuddled the dogs.
Oh my fucking God, it is summertime. Tomorrow I leave to visit Emily in the not-nearly-as-hot town of Boulder, and then when I come home I'll still have another glorious month of summer and my bridal shower to look forward to.
I got your lovely save the date card today! Thank you so much, it is so cute!!!
Ugh what is up with this heat? remember how last summer it just misted glorious rain and did not feel like the gaping maw of hades?! I think this summer is blazing retribution. :(
